一、Core Function & Working Principle
Core Function: According to the engine’s working conditions, control the opening of the valve, recirculate an appropriate amount of exhaust gas into the intake pipe, mix with fresh air and enter the cylinder for combustion, reduce the combustion temperature, and reduce NOx emissions by 30%-50%.
Working Principle: Controlled by the ECU, the ECU adjusts the opening of the EGR Valve according to the engine speed, load and exhaust gas temperature data, ensuring that the recirculation amount of exhaust gas is optimal.
二、Common Faults & Troubleshooting
1. Valve Jamming • Cause: Carbon deposits caused by incomplete combustion, long-term non-maintenance. • Troubleshooting: Use professional cleaning agent to clean the valve core and valve body; if jamming is severe, replace the EGR Valve.
2. Valve Leakage • Cause: Wear of the valve seal ring, damage of the valve core. • Troubleshooting: Replace the seal ring first; if leakage still exists, replace the EGR Valve.
3. Signal Abnormality • Cause: Damage of the EGR Valve position sensor, poor contact of the wiring harness. • Troubleshooting: Check the position sensor and wiring harness, repair or replace them in time.
